SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Antiochos VIII Epiphanes (Grypos), 121/0-97/6 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 16.50 g, 12 h), Antiochia on the Orontes. Diademed head of Antiochos VIII to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟΥ - ΕΠΙΦΑΝΟΥΣ Zeus Ouranios standing front, head to left, holding star in his right hand and long scepter in his left; to left, IE above A; in inner right field, A. SC 2298.2f. Beautifully toned. The obverse a bit weak, otherwise, about extremely fine.

From the collection of J.B. Haarhuis and from the Hanbery Collection, Ira & Larry Goldberg 96, 14 April 2017, 1787 and previously privately acquired from Schulman in the 1970s-80s.
